Just add some green peas while steaming the rice and voila! peas pulao is ready! Peas pulao or matar pulao is white basmati rice cooked with sweet garden peas, ginger and whole spices. Both stovetop and instant pot methods included. Peas Pulao or Matar Pulao is a quick, filling, one pot, flavorful rice dish made with green peas ,onions and whole spices.
Instructions to make Peas pulao:
- Wash and soak the Basmathi Rice for 20 to 30 minutes
- In a pressure cooker, heat the oil and butter. Add the whole spices and saute for a minute.
- Add in the onions, ginger garlic paste and slit green chillies. Saute till the onions changes colour.
- Add the green peas and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add the Basmathi Rice and mix all the ingredients together.
- Add the water and pressure cook for 20 minutes (10 minutes in high flame and 10 minutes in low flame).
- Serve hot with Onion Raita.
