Hyderabadi Khatti Dal is a very popular dal recipe mainly made in hyderabad which is a tangy tamarind tomato dal and often accompanied with kebabs or koftas. Gujarati Dal, also popular as "Khatti Meethi Daal" is a healthy dish prepared from tuvar dal (toor dal/arhar dal/pigeon pea lentils) and many Indian spices. In Gujarati cuisine, it is a part of the everyday meal and its taste is mild sweet and sour compared to any other Indian dals.

- Wash soak and boil daal with some salt and keep aside
- Slice the onions and chop fresh ginger garlic
- Chop tomatoes and keep aside and some chop some green fresh coriander
- Take some dried red chillies, some fresh kadi pattay, some whole zeera, some kalongi and some meethi dana Take a deep pan heat oil in and add butter and add all the whole spices for tadka
- As the aroma arises and seed starts to crackle add chopped ginger garlic and fry for 2/3 minutes and add chopped onions.lets the onions get pink in colour then add raw mango slices (kairi)and fry them well with onions
- After they get soft then add chopped tomatoes.bhoonofy well andd chopped fresh green coriander and add salt. Now cook the masala until the tomatoes get softened up
- Add red chilli powder, coriander powder haldi and zeera powder to the boiled daal mixture with some water and mix well
- Pour the daal mixture in in the pan over the masala we made. Cook for 5to 7 minutes and now blend the whole mixture
- Add lemon juice and chopped fresh coriander
- For tadka Take oil in a little pan heat it and add some Mustard seeds let them crackle add Zeera, kalongi dry red chilli and kadi pattay. Put tadka on the daal and close the lid, sevr with zeera rice !
