  2. Make ready 2 cup chana dal

  10. Get 18-20 arbi leaves
  11. Make ready 5 tbsps oil for frying

It is traditionally made during ' Sawan Ka Mahina' which according to English calendar is mid July till mid August. Today I'm sharing with u this easy pakora recipe which is perfect to serve as snack. Arbi Ke Patte Ke Pakode are Crispy and delicious, they are an ideal snac. Wash taro leaves / arbi patta and remove outer part of the spine.

Steps to make Rikwach / arbi patta pakora:
  1. First soak the dal for 6-8 hours then wash it and blend adding little water to make proper paste.
  2. Now add all the ingredients to the dal and mix it well and keep aside.
  3. Now cut the stems of the leaves and wash it nicely.
  4. Now take a leaf Apply the dal mixture and spread it evenly, put another leaf over it and again spread the mixture and again put another leaf repeat this for 4 times (5 leaves are used). Then fold it carefully as shown in the pic.
  5. Now put a steamer on high flame add water and boil it then place the prepared bundles on it and cover it and cook for 30-40 minutes on high flame.
  6. Check it by inserting a knife if it comes out clean it means it’s done switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  7. After that cut it into slices and fry it on medium heat till crispy and golden brown.
  8. Our yummy 😋 crispy rikwach/ arbi patta pakora is ready to serve.

Then drain rice and bengal gram completely and grind coarsely. Take a large bowl add rice and bengal gram paste,ginger garlic paste,red chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt and tamarind water / imli ka pani and mix well. Rikwach is a an innovative dish which makes an excellent use of Colocasia leaf as a base in a Pakora like snack. Colocasia leaves are heart shaped leaves and can easily be found at vegetable market.
