Fasting Rice is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. Fasting Rice is something that I’ve loved my entire life. They’re fine and they look wonderful.
To begin with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can have fasting rice using 5 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Fasting Rice:
- Get 1/2 cup Bhagar
- Make ready 2 chopped green chilies
- Get 1 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
- Prepare 1 peeled chopped potato
- Prepare 1 tsp oil
Bhagar is also known as Samo Rice, Varicha Bhat or Varyache Tandul in Marathi. Bhagar or Varicha Bhat is an Easy to cook recipe, very comforting and filling during Fasting. It can be eaten for breakfast and/or as main meals along with a side of curd. Traditionally, in Maharashtra, it is served with Danyachi Amti, which is made with Peanuts.
Instructions to make Fasting Rice:
- Soak bhagar in water for 15 mins and wash it 2-3 times.
- Keep a pan on medium flame add oil, put jeera and add potatoes…let it become crispy.
- Now add bhagar and roast nicely till all water get evaporated. Put boiled water in 1:2 ratio (bhagar:water). Cover the pan with plate and let it get cooked. Bhagar is ready to eat with curd,buttermilk or Fasting pickles.
Otherwise it would not be fasting. Rice is high in carbohydrates and as such it will stimulate insulin. The good thing is that fasting does reduce insulin, which is what makes us fat and dependent on carbs in our diet for energy. This is what keeps us from making the metabolic switch and begin using our own body fat for energy. As you have learned - fasting is not about food but about TIME.
