The ingredients needed to make Kunafa (using vermicelli):
- Make ready 250 gm Roasted vermicelli of any brand
- Get 1/4 cup melted Butter
- Take For the scented simple sugar syrup
- Prepare 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- Make ready 1/2 cup water
- Make ready 1 tsp Lemon juice
- Prepare 1 tsp rose syrup
- Prepare For cream filling
- Take 3 tbs sugar (can add more or less)
- Get 1/2 tsp rose water
- Take 2 tbsp corn flour and 1/2 cup water
- Make ready 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- Take 3 tbsp cream cheese(amul u can use)
- Get 2 tbsp fresh cream
- Take 2 cups milk
- Prepare 1/4 cup pistachios for garnishing
Add yellow food color,mix well & set aside. Vermicelli kunafa Kunafa is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert with a creamy texture with a crunchy crust. Here's a recipe of kunafa made with vermicelli. Kunafa is a traditional Arabic dessert using kunafa dough and cream cheese.
Instructions to make Kunafa (using vermicelli):
- In a bowl add crushed vermicelli add butter to it and mix well, keep aside
- In a medium saucepan, combine together the sugar, water and lime juice,heat on medium heat and prp like gulab jamun syrup, atlast add rose water boil it fr 1min and switch off flame.
- Fr cream filling : in a saucepan on medium heat, add milk & sugar mix well and bring it to boil
- Whisk 1/2cup of water to cornflour and gently pour in milk & stir continously whn it becomes thick add essense off the flame
- Thn to this mixture add condensed milk and cream cheese and fresh cream
- Take a round cake tin, grease it with ghee or butter
- Now spread half of vermicelli first layer, press it down with hand
- Spread cream filling on vermicelli
- Spread vermicelli second layer, press it down
- Bake it for 20mins at 180 degree
- After baking spread syrup or invert it in a dish & remove frm pan, pour sugar syrup on top
- Serve hot garnish with pistachios
- Then flip onto a gorgeous platter and swoon

- In this recipe i used roasted vermicelli as kunafa dough was nt available at my place.
Those who tasted it once can't forget the melt in mouth soft and cheesy delight. As i'm residing in Kerala it's hard to find the kunafa dough and cream cheese here; So i decided to make it's alternative version with vermicelli. It can be layered or filled with cream or cheese inside and crispy layer of vermicelli / kunafa dough pastry outside and finally soaked in sugar syrup. The kunafa pastry (kunafa dough / katafi) comes shredded and it looks like vermicelli.
