The ingredients needed to make Mung dal paniyaram:
- Take 1 cup Mung dal
- Make ready 1/4 cup rice
- Take 1tsp salt
- Get 1 onion chopped
- Prepare 1 tsp green chilli ginger paste
- Prepare 1/4 tsp ts baking soda
- Take Oil for roast
I served it with Allam Pachadi (Andhra Ginger Chutney). In Andhra, Paniyaram are called Paddu or Gunta Punugulu. Grind soaked Moong dal, green chilli and ginger in a mixer. Grind it till it becomes a rough paste (Not smooth paste).
Steps to make Mung dal paniyaram:
- Soak the dal and rice for 2 hours
- Now grind both
- Add chopped onion chilli paste and spices
- Take appam stand
- Grease it with lil oil
- Beat the batter properly
- Put the 1spoon batter in each whole.. Put drop of oil..
- Roast it till golden brown..
- Change the side of paniyaram
- Ready to eat
Now put this mixture in a bowl and add salt, dextrose, finely chopped Coriander to this. Here moong dal pakoras are fried in a paniyaram pan till they are crunchy and golden on the outside and then simmered in a curd based gravy. Addition of ginger and chillies in the pakoras give them a yummy flavour. Wash the Aval/Poha under a tap in a sieve till it is soaked well.
