Instant paniyaram (phaddu, appe) is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It is easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It is appreciated by millions every day. They are fine and they look wonderful. Instant paniyaram (phaddu, appe) is something which I have loved my entire life.
Heat the paddu pan on a medium flame and pour oil into all the individual moulds. Next, pour spoonful of the batter into the moulds, taking care to fill up till a little below the brim. Turn the balls and fry on both sides till their skin becomes golden brown.

Steps to make Instant paniyaram (phaddu, appe):
- Add 1 cup semolina and curd in bowl. - Add chopped vegetables and salt in it.
- Add water as required in it. Mix well make soft batter like idli batter. - Now add baking soda in it mix well close lid and keep aside for 20 min.
- After 20 min mix well the batter once again. Add few drops of oil in the phaddu mould. - Now add spoon of batter in mould close the lid and cook for 3 min or till it's done on low flame.
- After 3 min check out it's done or not. After that turn it and cook from other side for 2 min.

It is known by other names in different states like paddu,gundpongalu,paniyaram,gulittu,appe or ponganalu etc. They are basically a shallow fried bite sized breakfast or snack recipe,made usually with dosa batter /left over idly batter. But it has subtle variations from region to region. Add eno sachet in the fermented batter. Heat Appe patran or Appe pan on a medium flame.
