  2. Take 1 tablespoon sabudana

  6. Prepare 1 teaspoon elaichi powder

It is prepared for neivedyam/prasadam for god and it is served in temples as prasadam. Authentic Kerala nei appam prepared with raw rice, jaggery, overripe banana, fried coconut chunks, and cardamom powder.

Instructions to make Nei Paniyaram:
  1. Soak rice and sabudana for 4 hours and grind it to a fine paste with help of milk.
  2. In that rice batter add powder jaggery, elaichi powder and chopped coconut.
  3. Add ghee appe pan for the batter. After 5 minutes flip it off. Serve with ghee.

It also a tasty snack and kids' favorite too. Nei Appam is also called as unniyappam in Kerala. Nei appam reminds me of so many good memories. Nei appam is made in Tamilnadu for Karthigai Deepam festival. Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated for Lord Krishna's birth.
