- Turn off the heat and remove paniyarams. Serve hot with chutney,ketchup or tea/coffee.
Blend rice with little water until smooth. Tie peppercorns and bay leaf in a double thickness of cheesecloth; add to pan. Add celery salt and sugar; bring to a boil. Using a potato ricer or grater, press or grate potatoes into a serving bowl. Take out the paniyaram, place them on the kitchen towel to absorb excess oil and ready to serve.
