Paniyaram Recipe - Kuzhi paniyaram are ball shaped dumplings made with fermented urad dal and rice batter. These are one of the everyday breakfast food from South Indian Cuisine. In most homes paniyaram are usually made with left over or over fermented Idli or dosa batter.

Paniyaram is one of the most favored of current trending foods in the world. It’s simple, it is quick, it tastes delicious. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. Paniyaram is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

To get started with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have paniyaram using 16 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Paniyaram:
  1. Make ready 2 cups suji
  2. Prepare 1 cup curd
  3. Make ready 1 tbsp oil
  4. Take 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  5. Get 1/2 cumin seeds
  6. Prepare 2-3 tsp green chilli paste
  7. Make ready 1/2 cup chopped cabbage
  8. Make ready 4-5 chopped beans
  9. Take 1/2 cup chopped capsicum
  10. Take 1/2 cup chopped onions
  11. Make ready 1/2 cup boiled sweet corn
  12. Prepare 2 tsp chopped coriander leaves
  13. Get 7-8 curry leaves
  14. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  15. Prepare 1/2 tsp garam masala
  16. Take as required Oil

This could be enjoyed as a filling breakfast or a tasty evening snack. Here is how you can make paniyarams using idli/dosa batter. A paniyaram pan (appakarai, appakaram) is a stove-top pan that has somewhat the functionality of a muffin tin. It resembles a kanom krok pan in Thailand, and an aebleskiver pan in Denmark, or a frying pan with a permanent egg-poaching insert in it with rounded cups in it.

Instructions to make Paniyaram:
  1. Heat oil. Add mustard seeds cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilli paste, turmeric powder, Garam masala, salt and cook all vegetables for 2 minutes and keep aside.
  2. Now combine sujii, curd, required water and all semi cooked vegetables. Keep aside to 10 minutes for this batter. When want to make Paniyaram then add soda and mix well.
  3. Now heat Paniyaram pan.pour little oil in each cavity Now pour batter about one tablespoon in each cavity and cook of 5 minutes over medium flame.
  4. Now flip the other side and cook for another 5 minutes and until it gets crispy on the outside once done remove and serve with green chutney or sauce.

It is used in India for making kuzhi appam. This paniyaram turns out so fluffy and taste delicious with chutney or sambar. I have already shared paniyaram recipe but this is a authentic recipe for the chettinad kuzhi paniyaram handed down to me by my perimma. She made it once brought home, it was delicious. I asked her the recipe and made it immediately and it was a huge success.
