This Sama rice kheer recipe is often made during fasting days and is also known by the name Vrat ke chawal ki kheer Or samak ki kheer. Barnyard millet are ancient grains which are very healthy. Millet grains can be easily substituted for rice or rava/semolina in any dish.
Samayak rice kheer is one of the most favored of current trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions daily. They are fine and they look fantastic. Samayak rice kheer is something which I have loved my entire life.
To begin with this recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can cook samayak rice kheer using 5 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.
The ingredients needed to make Samayak rice kheer:
- Take 1 ltr full cream milk
- Prepare 4 TSB Samayak rice or bhagar
- Get 1/2 cup sugar or sugar as per your taste
- Get 5-6 chopped almonds
- Prepare 1/4 tsp Green cardamom powder
Once the millet is cooked, just mash and see it should be soft then its done. Add cardamom powder and saffron strands. Vrat ke chawal ki kheer or samak ki kheer - made from barnyard millets, milk, and sugar. For the flavoring cardamom powder and saffron is added.
Steps to make Samayak rice kheer:
- Firstly wash and soak samayak for half an hour and keep aside
- Take milk in pan and cook for 20-30 min. Give a nice boil on high flame and then cook on simmer flame after that add samyak rice and again cook for 10-15 min. Or until smayak rice is cook properly
- Add sugar and cardamom powder and mix well
- Cook for 10 min. Now the kheer is ready switch off the flame. Garnish with chopped almond, pomegranate and apple or you can take any nut and fruits you like. Serve chilled.
This sama ke chawal ki kheer does taste similar to regular rice kheer. And I made it the same way I make my rice kheer which is very easy to make. Samak Rice also called barnyard millet, it is a seed and not a grain. It is high on calcium, potassium, phosphorus and amino acids except lysine. It is usually eaten with hull, which retains majority of its nutrients.
