- Get 300 grams medium prawns peeled and deveined
- Prepare 1 tsp Salt as you taste
- Take 1 cup grated coconut

- Make ready 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Prepare 10 pepper corns
- Prepare 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds mathi dana

- Make ready 5 garlic cloves peeled
- Make ready 1 1/2 tablespoon tamarind pulped
- Get 3 tablespoon oil
In this curry recipe, prawns are cooked in coconut oil with a spicy tamarind gravy. Prawn gassi Prawn gassi is popularly known as yeti gassi is Mangalore where yeti means prawns and gassi stands for curry. Once they have darkened a little and are aromatic, scrape straight into a spice grinder and grind to a fine powder. METHOD Wash the prawns well, apply a little salt and turmeric, and set aside.
Steps to make Prawns ghassi:
- Wash prawns thoroughly under running water drain and pat dry sprinkle with salt and set aside
- Take pan add red chilly cumin seeds coriander seeds pepper corns fenugreek seeds dry cook and keep aside
- Take pan add oil add onion fry add naryal add dry masala cook well and grind fain masala add tamarind pulped
- Take pan add oil add prawns and fry well keep aside
- In a pan add oil and add masala fry add salt and saute for 5 minutes add 2 cup water and mix well when the mixture comes to the boil add prawns and adjust seasoning
- Simmer for 5 minutes and ready to serve hot prawns ghassi enjoy with paratha and boil rice
Heat one tablespoon of the oil in a small pan and gently roast the coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, black. Prawn ghassi is a very famous and most preferred prawn curry served in most south Indian Restaurant. The best prawns to make it are tiger prawns , large and succulent which is cleaned properly and head and tail removed. My Prawn Ghassi is a delicious South Indian curry that has coconut milk and tamarind giving it a creamy sweet, yet tangy flavour. Wash the prawns thoroughly under running water.
